Psych Speciality Exam

YES! I work in a behavioral health clinic that deals with both behavioral as well as chemical dependency. I have found there are not many guidelines (reference materials) out there for this speciality. I think being certified in this area would definetely be a plus for me. I hope it comes soon!!!

I think it will be hard to offer a specialization, even though it would be nice. This is an area where there are a lot of gray areas and little information available. I have also found it very difficult to encourage documentation in psych/behavior health b/c the providers limit this information intentionally because they feel it is the patient's private information. The use of psych/behavior health codes also spans throughout many areas - I often see them used in endocrinology, specialty clinics (cleft palate and oncology), etc.
