Would psychedelic therapy for treatment of PTSD fall under narcosynthesis or would a new CPT code need to be created? Psychedelic therapy is advancing towards FDA approval in clinical trials, so eventually it will be reimbursed by insurance.
 
FDA approval and covered by insurance are completely different things. FDA approved treatments can still be considered experimental and investigational for decades after that. It would be an unlisted code.
