We are billing for services in a Residential Care Facility. Can anyone tell us whether they are using 99307-99310 or if you use 99334-99337. We are inclined to use the 99334 for Domiciliary place of service but our physician feels the 99307 is more appropriate.

I cant tell you as I dont bill these. Until you find a more clear answer, I would let your MD be the final say. He knows what he is doing with the patients and should be able to determine which of 2 fits better if given a good description of each.

Hi Jennifer,

I would say the 99304-99310 because in the CPT guidelines for "Nursing Facility Services" it states that "these codes should also be used to report evaluation and management services provided to a patient in a psychiatric residential treatment center..."

Hope that helps.
