Psychotherapy 90804;90806;90808 does the provider needs to document the start and end TIME?

Yes, they are time driven codes. The audit that we went thru from Medicare indicated that as well.

This question is for smdumpert. Where is it documented that the doctors must document "time start" and "time end" on the psychotherapy code. I have been looking for them to give to my director. I know I have seen it and even heard it at an CEU class but I need the actual documentation for my director. He is telling me that it is total time is all that needs to be documented. Thanks, for your help.
