I have a psychologist that saw a patient today for only 20 minutes. Can I bill the 90832 (30 min psychotherapy) with a -52 modifier for reduced services? I can't seem to find anything in the CPT book about it.

Thanks in advance!

Per the guidelines in the beginning of that specific section, "In reporting, choose the code closest to the actual time (i.e. 16-37 minutes for 90832 and 90833)". No modifier needed.

Thx

Thanks! I was looking in the Procedural Coding Expert book and not a true CPT manual. The Expert book doesn't have that info in it.

Thanks again!
