Wiki pt defers pelvic exam-still count?

Good morning fellow coders!

I would love some help. I think I remember learning somewhere that if a patient defers a pelvic exam, and the physician documents so and why, we can still count the pelvic when choosing the E/M code. Has anyone else heard this, or am I a bit crazy?
