I have a physician our family practice office that knows a physical therapist. The PT has asked the MD to be an 'oversite' physician on some of his cases. Both have different tax id's, npi's, & locations.

My MD wants us to bill these cases under our clinic's group NPI/Tax ID with the PT as the rendering provider.

How do I link the PT's NPI to our tax id & group NPI?

I am at a total loss here...
Any suggestions are welcomed & appreciated.

Good news/Bad news

Good News: If the PT is going to be in the office with the physician, the PT can bill incident to the physician and no special credentialing is needed.

Bad News: If the PT is NOT going to be in the office with the physician, then the PT will need to be separately credentialed as a member of your group. Medicare, Medicaid & many insurance plans separately credential PT's.

Hope this helps.
