Hey guys,
What are you guys doing when you get denials for timed exercises for PT? Our therapist uses WebPT so there is a daily note and a flowsheet. If the flowsheet doesn't list the minutes for the timed exercise but the daily notes lists the exercise and the number of units, doesn't that suffice? I'm trying to figure out how to appeal the denials or if it is even worth it.

When a procedure is timed the medical record needs to specify how many hours/minutes were spent on the time procedure. The fact that your EMR is assigning the number of units isn't going to cut it with an auditor who wants to see documentation of how long was spent on the billed timed procedure.
