Wiki Pt with reassigned gender billing and coding for dysmenorrhea.

The patient in question has been reassigned gender of male, being a born female. The initial visit was for dysmenorrhea.

The insurance company is obviously denying because the ICD9, 625.3 can not be coded for males! Although male, he still has not had his surgery and still has female genitalia.

Where do I go from here? I'm stumped!

If the patient was born female and still has female reproductive organs and or genitalia then you need to bill them as a female.
