I am looking for some information on how to bill for a thoracentesis kit. I have only found a HCPC's code for a surgical tray. Are there any pulmonary offices that bill for these services that can help me with this? Thanks in advance.

It has been my understanding that the "kit" used to perform a throacentesis is included in the RVU for the physician's service and procedure itself. We performed these all of the time at my previous employer's multi-specialty practice, in our pulmonary and oncology areas and never billed this separately. Again, that's my understanding.
