94620 PULMONARY STRESS TESTING; simple ., prolonged exercise test for bronchospasm with pre and post spirometry.
This code was revised in 2007 to include a 6 min. walk test...
The physician office I am helping with is doing this test but without the pre or post spirogram based on the guidelines from the American Thoracic Society VOL 166 PG 111-117 2002. The article does not state this is needed to do the test. Also when I look up the info in 3M I get a vignette 1 & 2 one for treadmill and two for the 6 min. walk the info for the 6 min walk does not state with base line spirogram in it either just in the treadmill, so all the info I find is not enough to suport the code stating pre and post spirometry for the Dr. I need clear cut guideline answers can any one help.
