Hi. I code for ER physicians. I am wondering if any of you would consider pulse ox ordered and reviewed as part of medical decision making. The physician uses the equipment in the hospital so I am not billing the procedure but this is a peds ER and a pulse ox can be considered ordinary procedure. Would you count it? Thanks.

I would report it.However many insurers consider the Pulse ox as part of the E/M visit.
I know that B/C has a policy which states this.
