Hello -

Patient with asthma comes in for a follow-up. The physician orders Pulse Ox to be performed. On their bill provider states, "first pulse ox performed. Bill as 94760 and additional readings are also performed, bill a 94761."

I was under the impression after reading CPT and CDR that you wouldn't bill 2 Pulse Ox codes for the same DOS. You either did one reading (94760) or you did multiples
(94761).

??

Thanks.

indented code

Per coding guidelines one would have to choose one code and not utilize both. It's always an additional benefit to have the resources to utilize the CPT Assistant articless listed beneath the codes for additional tips and information.
