Pump

have a patient that will be receive a pump on monday and we will take the pump off on thursday and disconnect the pump. Patient will come back on the following Monday for a pump and meds for the charge on the following monday should it be a inital or would it be a refill. patient will not have the pump once we disconnect so therefore there is nothing to maintain or refll.

You bill for the initial on the Monday (96416) and again the following Monday (96416). It will not be a refill because the pump has been previously disconnected (the prior Thursday).

You would bill a refill if the patient stayed on the pump the entire time and just need a refill of medication.
