I need help coding the following OP Report:
Diagnosis: Pyogenic Granuloma (per lab report)
Procedure: Right hand exision mass, superficial, 1X1cm
"...With a curette, I gently curetted out the mass wich was about the size of a pea when it was protuberant through the skin and visible to the naked eye. The mass was excised in full and passed off the table for pathologic ealuation. There was a small stalk emanating from the base of the wound. This was curetted. I cauterized the stalk thoroughly to stop any bleeding..."
The procedure states mass excision, but I can't help but feel like curettage and cauterization should be coded as something else. Would 17110 work for this?
Any insight would be greatly appreciated.
