Wiki Question about answer in the Study Guide

I am studying for the CPC certification. I purchased the Study Guide – Official CPC Certification, through AAPC. On page 129, question number 9. It states the answer is 25606-LT, S52.502A, V19.9XXA.

The question states that the child is a 14 year old young man. Wouldn’t this require a P (Pediatric age 0-17), not an A (Adult age 18-24).

I am very confused, can you please help with this?

Sorry I don't have the study guide but what P are you referring to? The A in the DX codes is for initial encounter. For the S52 code a P at the end would be (P - subsequent encounter for closed fracture with malunion)

Am I understanding correctly?

I figured it out

CodingKing,
Thanks for your help. I figured it out. I was looking at the A & P on the bottom on the ICD10 book. My mistake!!
