Hi All,

I have a peds doctor who uses a a Q-tip to remove cerumen. Would this be billable using the 69210 code?

Thank for the help,
Teresa:)

Cerumen removal...

Basically, it would need to fall into the following descriptor:

"Under direct visualization, the physician removes impacted cerumen (ear wax) using suction, a cerumen spoon or delicate forceps. If no infection is present, the ear canal may be irrigated."

I am almost 100% sure that use of a Q-tip will not qualify for the above.

Coding - how wonderfully clouded it is...

Have a good one :)
