I am trying to determine if Medicare will allow you to charge for more than one axillary node removal if there is only one incision made. My surgeon is trying to bill a mastectomy with the 38525 code for the initial axillary node removal and then 38525,59 for the additional removed nodes with only one incision being made. I know that Blue Cross only allows for one charge per incision. Is this the same with Medicare?
