I need help coding a report where the provider performed Right lower extremity anterior and lateral compartment fasciectomies w/neurolysis superficial peroneal nerve. I noticed a fasciectomy for the lower extremity would be coded with an unlisted code 20999 but was wondering if a fasciotomy with debridement, 27892 would be appropriate in this case. Here is the OP note;

Any help would be most appreciated as the provider coded this case w/27600 but I don't believe this OP note supports that code.

I think you should be able to use 27892. It has in the description "any nonviable muscle or nerve tissue is debrided and removed."
