if a member has a Telehealth call and the provider documents Diabetes, is the DM able to be captured as well for RA purposes or only the symptoms related to COVID-19? Thank you in advance, this has been a huge topic in recent days. The CMS bulletin reads-

Telehealth and other Communication Based Technology Services
Medicare Advantage plans may provide their enrollees with access to Medicare Part B services via telehealth in any geographic area and from a variety of places, including beneficiaries’ homes. With this flexibility, it is possible that beneficiaries in Medicare Advantage plans can receive clinically appropriate services for treatment of COVID-19 via telehealth.

I would agree so....especially if the DM is contributing to any severe sysmptoms the patient may have.

Anyone have information on whether providers can perform AWV on telehealth for RA purposes? My office has providers asking if they can perform these visits and send over the completed visit for HCC recording. I cannot find information anywhere and these visits are not in regards to COVID-19.

We are struggling with this as well. Based on previous CMS instructions, G0438/G0439 are acceptable, but the vitals are a sticking point-is the BP a required element?
