Question:
How do you code radicular pain of lower extremity? My physician uses M54.1 series, which is radiculopathy. However, to choose the most specific code I need to know which region of the spine it is radiating from. If it's the 1st visit and all the note says is radiating leg pain, how am I suppose to know where the pain is originating from? :confused:
