Does anyone know what CPT code would be used to code a Ultrasound of the back for an abnormal soft tissue mass adjacent to the spine?

What CPT code would you use for a soft tissue ultrasound of the perineum near the rectum?

Thanks for any help,

For the soft tissue ultrasound of th perineum I would use 76872. As far as the ultrasound of the back, that is a tricky one as you could use 76880 but its not necessary an extremity, anyone else have any thoughts on the first one?

Thank you for your help, I am not sure if this was done transrectal but it does sound like a better code then the Radiologist coded. Both of these examples they coded as Ultrasound Extremity Non Vascular.

Per the Coding Strategies, Inc....CSI Navigator For: Diagnostic Radiology the code to use for US perineum is 76857 and for US back, depending on upper or lower: 76604-52 (upper) and 76705 (lower). Hope this helps
