We bill for a physican owned radiology center that performs breast biopsies. If an outside physician (a physician not belonging to the group) comes in and uses the facility, they bill the biopsy, we bill all radiological codes, is there any way we can ALSO bill a facility charge for the biopsy?
PLEASE HELP!
Thank you~

Hi there:

This scenario may be outlined in a contract agreement that your physician group has made with the outside radiologist. If they haven't addressed the reimbursement by the outside radiologist for the use of their facility, then they will need to approach the outside radiologist for the reimbursement. I really don't think you can bill for an entity not associated with your group for their use of your employers facility.

Best of luck.
