Wiki Radiology - Medicare rules in MO for locums

MO Medicare has performed an audit on locum tenens use in Radiology. Their interpretation of the MCM rules on locums is quite strict, and pretty much will prevent the use of telerads in small or one man groups. They state that locums cannot be used for any regular "staffing needs" but strictly when one radiologist is on sick leave, vacation, CME trip, ect.

I have compared their rules to Trailblazers and WPS. Both of these Carriers are much more liberal in their locums policies.

Is anyone out there experiencing this issue? If you go to any of the Pinnacle websites and look on the Medical Review section, you can find an article on this issue.

How are you going to handle this?

Thanks All!
