When a thumb has been x-rayed has anyone heard that a hand needs to be charged for radiology and if so why and are you using a reduced service modifier?
Thank you

We usually use 73140 for x-ray of the thumb. There may be a reason to x-ray the whole hand depending on the type of injury, though. I've never used a reduced service modifier. If the whole hand was x-ray'd the report was on the entire hand, I do not feel there is a need for the reduced service modifier.

My opinion.
