When does time start during a rapid desensitization visit? Does it start when the patient gets into the room or after the first injection? My doctor has been charging for the time to take vital signs and the time spent taking information from the patient. During this time, he may do a lung function test and this has been included with the time along with billing for the lung function test. Now he wants to do a nebulizer treatment and add the time spent doing this with the desensitization code. Before I advise that they should definitely not use the time spent doing a lung function & nebulizer treatment, I wondered on the time spent doing the vital signs.
 
The time starts when the patient receives the first injection. Time spent doing all of those other things should not be included in the Rapid Desensitization time
