We billed an office visit (99213) with suture removal by same MD (S0633) and the suture removal kit (02033). Insurance denied the 02033 as invalid procedure code. I cannot find any other code to use to correct the 02033 code. All of this was performed by the same pediatrician. Should I code it as 99199?
 
What was the level 3 for? If the visit only for suture removal there should not be a visit level 3 maybe a 2 if the payer does not accept the S code which many do not. The suture removal kit is a non chargeable item.
