I have a patient with a history of bladder cancer (2003), he had the whole bladder removed and replaced with a neobladder. Recently, he went to the hospital and the diagnosis is recurrent bladder cancer. What code do I use? Do I code bladder if the bladder was removed? Neobladder is created from the small intestine, so do I code the small intestine? Do I use a primary code or secondary (metastatic) code?
