If a one view study of the left ankle is performed and there is no code describing one view extremity studies, how would you code this? I am not sure between 73600-52 or an unlisted procedure.

Modifier 52 would be appropriate in this instance. If the lowest CPT reports 2 views and you did one, you would append modifier 52.
