Does anyone know if it is documented somewhere to state that a referring physician for anesthesiology must be a surgeon? We have some information that comes over with the primary care physician instead. It has not appeared to be a problem and some Medicaid's require a PCP but the question came up as to why it is not always to be the surgeon. Any thoughts or know where documentation could be found?
