Hi, I am trying to find the correct code for Medicare and Medicaid to be used for drug screens. We currently have our CLIA waiver and have been using the 80101 code for about two years. We started using the code x1 and however many drugs and then went to 80101 x10 or however many drugs tested. In April, Medicare switched to a G code but we have not been able to code this correctly to get paid. We have tried several types of G codes but to no avail and phone calls have not helped. Now Medicaid is also telling us that we should be using the G code also. Help!!!!!!:):)

from our experience and research...Medicare will only pay for 1 unit--no matter how many drugs are tested for. Hope this helps.
