A patient has a port o cath placed by surgery for chemo. Three days later she is seen in the ER for sob and chest pains. The surgery doctor is called for a consult where he finds the patiet to have pneumothorax, he admits them for three days. Would this be related to the port o cath placement ?? Thanks

I agree that i need to let the doctor make the call on this one. After reading all the notes from the OPS of the port o cath the x ray confirmed no leakage or pneumothorax then when she was admitted two days later for the pneumothorax the x ray showed rhonchi. I'm thinking the pneumothorax was related to that but hard to tell. I will let the doctor look at it monday morning.

Thanks everyone is advance for the help.
