We have a patient that currently has a BI-V iCD, and one of our cardiologists is removing the generator and replacing it with a pacemaker generator. Nothing is being done with the leads. My fellow coder and I think that we should bill 33221 for the insertion of the pacemaker, and 33241 for the removal of the ICD. Can anyone please let me know if this sounds correct? With the new codes in place we aren't sure if this is the proper coding of this scenario or not.

Thank you!
