Anesthesia was administered by CRNA to the same patient on the same day repeated with a gap of 3 hrs. Second anesthesia( CPT 00300) was billed with QZ & 76 modifier, but claim got denied as incorrect modifier used. How to bill the second anesthesia service?
 
Technically, it's not a repeat anesthesia service, but a separate encounter - although there are some payers (relatively few) who want the modifier 76.

Modifier 59 may be your better choice if your payer denies mod 76 with the QZ.
