Does anyone have any thoughts on which is more appropriate for removal of breast expander and replacement with breast implant? The American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS) suggest using 11970. I have also had discussions with some collegues that suggested using 19342. The CPT assistant is more consistent with the ASPS but doesn't address the exact issue. If any plastic surgery coders out there have any suggestions for coding or references, I would appreciate it.
