I was reading the CMS website regarding the clinical quality measures for meaningful use. We do not have an EHR system yet. I really don't understand how these measures are tracked. I did not see any codes listed on the site. We are general surgeons, and it doesn't seem like these measures would apply. We don't take care of chronic conditions. Also, I did not see any codes to track these services. Is the system programmed to track these services? Are they automatically set up to track these services or do they have to be programmed in some way. It appears that they need to be reported in some manner in order to meet the meaningful use requirement.

I was wondering if others could tell me how this works.
