Excision of scar tissue

What code would be used for Excision of scar tissue? The scar tissue is being excised at the same time as hardware removal. Any coding ideas for exc. of scar tissue?

Any advice is helpful. Thanks in advance!:confused:

Usually ...

Usually scar excision is covered by one of two methods .... either coding Complex repair - OR removal of benign lesion with possible layered closure.


HOWEVER ... if you are excising the scar in the process of making a surgical incision to get at the buried hardware, then this is incidental (global) to the primary procedure.
