I am working on my resume and am looking for some feedback, I had to take some time off and it was a couple of months before ICD 10 took effect, I am trained and passed the AAPC proficiency exam, and have continued to read my monthly magazine to stay up to date with the coding world, but how do I explain this in a resume, I love coding but I'm afraid this will hurt my chances of getting hired

May not be the best advice you will get, but here it goes anyway. I wouldn't put any explanation for the gap in my resume. I would just put the necessary dates and be ready to explain in person if asked in an interview. You could also probably put some sort of "personal education/study" in those areas, if you want to show that you were still "working" toward your future job.

I hope you get some better responses than that, but maybe it helped a bit!
