Good morning,

A question has arisen by one of our providers regarding bringing a discharged newborn back to the OB floor for repeat PKU testing on inconclusive tests. The argument is that there is a compliance issue with bringing a discharged newborn back to the birthing unit and that the infant should be taken to the lab. The issue is no one can locate any compliance documentation regarding this subject. Can anyone chime in on this and/or provide any resources for documentation?

Thank you,
Denise
