Wiki Return to coding

Hello. My last coding position was August of 2019. The pandemic started right after and hiring was halted. I really want to return to coding but am having difficulty getting hired as companies choose coders who are still currently in the field first. I have experience in E/M, orthopedics, family practice, urgent care, and some inpatient. . Any advice on what I can do to obtain a position in the field again would be greatly appreciated. I am still current with my CPC credentials. I do keep up with the chapter meetings (Glendale, AZ) and health care monthly magazine. I do have to research codes more now as before they were easily remembered because of daily use.

Thank you,
Sandra M. Marafioti CPC
