Hello all. Is there a list of Rev codes that are exempt from requiring a CPT code for outpatient hospital services? Chapter 25 of the CMS manual refers to NUBC but I don't appear to have access to that. Specifically, Rev Codes 250, 270, and 710. Thank you for your help.

Hi,

Usually these Rev codes don't require cpt/hcpc under hospital opps. Here are some more specific to CMS/Medicare hcpc/cpt exempt lists 251-259, 271-276, 370(under general Anesthesia), 710-719. hcpc-Rev codes reporting requirements are subject to change, commercial payers may still need them, hence it's better to refer payer guidelines.

Good day!

Thanks,
