During an office visit, can providers bill for review of MRI and CT studies which are already interpreted by another physicians? Or they should only be counted towards deciding level of visit as elements in the MDM section?

This would be incorporated into the MDM (i.e. independent review of image). There is a CPT code for "consultation of x-ray examination made elsewhere"; however, the reporting of this CPT code is identical to the consultation guidelines. There must be a request and a written, formal report of his interp of the x-ray. The written report is sent to requesting physician.
