Can you verify the appropriate cpt and icd-9 for the following situation we are having questions with in our office on the appropriate codes:


Procedure Performed: Right Hearth Catheritization/Swan-Ganz catherization

Indication: recalcitrant cardiac and respiratory failure

Description of Procedure: A #8 sheath was places over a guidewire into the subclavian vein. The balloon was inflated and using pressure tracings, the catheter was floated forward. An RV tracing was very ovious as was a pulmonary artery tracing but I could not obtain wedge tracing and therefore the catheter was left in place. The balloon was deflated in the pulmary artery. Chest x-ray is currently pending for confirmation.
