My surgeon placed an ivc filter when he performed a lap chole. It was discussed before surgery of placing the filter due to the risk of DVT/pulmonary embolis. The patient had previous removal of 2 separate malignant pelvic neoplasms and venous ligation with secondary malignancy in the pelvis wall with subsequent nephrectomy; this was all done 2 weeks prior. Does anyone know of an acceptable dx for this procedure? Thanks for any input.
