Hello.
My outpatient clinic focuses on Medicaid and people with SUD issues.

Our PTs have regular encounters with our providers but they also have regular encounters with just our RN.

I find coding for the RN encounters difficult. In genera a UA drug check would happen 80305 and sometimes they will receive a medication injection 96372. I cannot bill 99211 and 96372, as 96372 is considered a part of the RN visit. But I question 99211 being the most appropriate code for our services.

I see T1016 as more appropriate. Our RN often do not simply give a shot and send the PT on their way. They sit with the PT, go over how they have been doing on the medication, go over their temptations and environment and help the PT figure out strategies to avoid the substance.

My trouble is that I cannot find guides, documents, examples of this situation. Does anyone bill T1016 for RN case management like this?
