If a patient comes in for a routine ob appt, then is admitted to the hospital later that same afternoon or evening and delivers, does the rob e/m roll into the admission? Presuming that our doctors are the admitting md and deliver the baby? There are some payer ie Medicaid that pay the rob outside the global...... I've gotten mixed reviews and need some guidance for my billing staff.

The ROB and delivery,same day would be one delivery charge. You can't charge separately for the ROB/E&M on the same day of delivery. The delivery code would depend on whether or not you're charging global or per visit/delivery only and w/postpartum or w/out p.partum.
