Does anyone have a good guideline for me to follow on when an eye exam is no longer considered routine? I'm new to this specialty and could use the guidance.

You may want to begin with what is a routine eye exam.... Here is a link to get you started, but it's probably best to check with your top three insurance carriers and look up their policy of what is not considered routine.

A lot of times the doctor's notes will look the same, and then it's chief complaint that drives code selection.
