New to E/M and need guidance. Established patient in for a routine physical.
Everything looked fine. Mention of two systems reviewed. Doesn't need to
return for 12 mths.

Not sure if anything would count towards 212.
Still, I've seen an article while looking for answers that said only 3% of
cases are actually 211 so... Any help is appreciated.

Annual Physical

Hello,

You wouldn't use either of these codes. For the annual physical codes you should be coding from the Preventive Medicine Service E&M section. These codes codes begin with 99391 for established patients. Hope this helps

The prevent ive codes are in the front E&M section you just need to keep looking they are more or less in the numeric order. there are new patient preventive and established patient preventive. If you are unfamiliar with E&M then I would suggest you turn every page in the E&M section and look at all of your available choices for different scenarios. There are counseling codes in this section as well and prolonged time codes that you can use.
