Hi and thanks for reading...Does anyone have a list of the common lab and tests that providers order for Pre-Op exams? Is there such a thing? I'm auditing PST/PAT and just want to see if there is anything out there. I found this online.. http://www.wrha.mb.ca/professionals/familyphysicians/files/GRIDFINALDec.10.pdf yea or nah?

Pre-Op Labs/Tests

There are no "standard" preop labs/tests that are ordered across the board for everything - some organizations develop standardized orders for preop for certain conditions/procedures, but as a Compliance Manager, I encourage all of our clients to discontinue this procedure. The reason why is that all tests/labs must be supported by medical necessity, therefore, the tests/labs that are ordered (even preoperatively!) should be supported by the patients condition(s) and should be documented as such by the ordering provider.
