I know nothing about this procedure so any advice will help. The physician states that he performed a proximal row carpectomy of the right wrist. Please guide me where to start.
thanks

The physician removes all four bones in the proximal row of the carpal bones of the wrist. An incision is made overlying the wrist. The physician carries the incision down to the carpal bone. The physician identifies the two rows of carpal bones. The physician removes all four bones in the proximal row one by one while preserving tendons, nerves, and blood vessels. Each of the bones is dissected free and removed. Ligaments may need to be reattached to other bones. The physician irrigates the wound with antibiotic solution. The wound is closed in layers.
